 Origins of our Discontents by Pulitzer Prize wining author Isabel Wilkerso
 n.  So much has happened in those 5 years.\nThe book remains as relevant 
 now as it was when it ws written in 2020...and as important to unpack as i
 t was when we did the book study during the pandemic in 2021.\nIt's critic
 al in understanding why we are where we are and how we got here.  This bo
 ok details the hidden caste system which has shaped American history since
  its founding.  This book is a hard read and portions are bound to have a
 n impact on you as they did me.  One dear friend told me sections were ve
 ry uncomfortable to read.  I agree and yet I believe this book should be 
 required reading for anyone who is struggling with how we got to where we 
 are today and what we can do about it. As Rev Lisa says\, "Life begins at 
 the end of our comfort zone."  Let's take a breath\, dive in once again a
 nd be uncomfortable together as we move toward a greater understanding of 
 the origins of our discontents.
