Talk title is Mr. Rogers’ Gospel: Look for the Helpers
Fred Rogers taught a simple, childlike truth that speaks powerfully to adults: when bad things happen, look for the helpers. This talk draws on Mr. Rogers’ wisdom and the parable of the Good Samaritan to reflect on compassion’s power to break barriers, extend solidarity, and remind us that our neighbors are everywhere around us.
Aaron English is a Nashville-based, globally active singer-songwriter and lay speaker at Unity and UU churches.
Highlights of Aaron's career include concert tours on five continents, radio hits in Italy, Pakistan and the U.S., and a song on the Fox TV drama “Bones”.
Aaron recently won the Beyond Music Foundation’s Social Activist Award for his work as the founder/director of the International Youth Music Project, a charity that supports youth music programs at orphanages, refugee camps and HIV/AIDS+ community centers in East Africa.
