Lori Lancaster started attending Unity of Portland in 2015. Finding a community in which she could learn and grow spiritually, she became a member in 2017. Taking classes opened her to New Thought teachings and deepened her prayer and meditation practices. Most impactful was the Rock Your Word class in which she found affirmative prayer and uses it to this day. Recognizing that giving and receiving are the natural cycle of spirit, she has been given much from attending Unity and has been moved to serve and has done so as a Prayer Chaplain, Spirit Group Leader, and YOU guide, and technolgy assistant to the Administrator.
Lori is a former high school science teacher who currently serves her science education community through the Oregon Science Teachers Association, the Murdock Trust’s Partners in Science Program, teacher coaching and professional development. She also serves on the governing council for Village at the Falls, a community group that serves the elderly as part of the larger Villages Northwest organization. At home, Lori enjoys gardening, knitting, and helping others in her neighborhood. Traveling is important to Lori as it opens her mind and heart to the diversity of people, culture, and ecosystems around the world.
