Some of my earliest memories are of going to church with my family. We lived on a ranch in Idaho, 3 generations on my dad’s side. Dad’s great, great grandparents came in covered wagons, from Tennessee to Utah with the original founder of the Mormon Church. Our lives centered around their doctrine. When I was 16, an incident changed my life and the way I felt about the church. It sent me on a path of seeking the spiritual truth. Throughout the years, I studied & attended many churches/religions. I visited Native Americans and lived next to a reservation, met healers and practiced their traditions. I traveled to Peru, learned ancient rituals with tribal shamans. I followed the path of Mary Magdalene, and spent 2 years in Saudi Arabia with practicing Muslims. I went to India, studied Buddha, Yoga and Krishna.
Unity came into my life 30 years ago. My attendance was random for many years. I became a member 16 years ago, after taking classes, on a variety of topics. I have served on the marketing team, and have been the lead decorating designer since 2019. I’m serving on the Board of Trustees, and this is my second term, which includes serving as lead for the 100th Anniversary. I retired 10 years ago, after a lengthy career in commercial real estate. I was also a doula and yoga instructor. Unity Spiritual Center of Portland inspires me and I know how blessed I am, to be part of this community..
